The Cuisine in Bangkok

Thai cuisine is now a world-class dish that is served up in every city across the globe. The reason is not difficult to wonder why. The food is just so fantastic, that it will leave you coming back for more. There are two styles of Thai cooking, the royal Thai cuisine and the common fare. The royal Thai dishes are traditionally served up to royalty, and the preparation and presentation is absolutely an art form. The food is normally garnished with carved fruits and vegetables. Check out the Benjarong Restaurant for some royal Thai cuisine.
The Common fare is what the local Thai people eat every day of the year. There are 4 different regions in Thailand and all 4 have their distinct cuisine, but mostly the restaurants in Bangkok will serve you up a blend of the four different types of cuisine. There are some restaurants in the city that specialise in the regional cooking like the Wanalee Earth Kitchen Restaurant will have a menu that is divided by region. This restaurant is well recommended and there are not many like it.

The Central Region of Thailand specialises in hot and salty food, with a sweet and sour sauce. In the Northeast region the sticky rice is famous, along with lots of green papaya salad and barbecued chicken. The North region has milder tasting food, with a salty and sour taste preferred, rather than the sweet taste. The fermented sour pork sausages are barbecued and served on the street to passers by. The Southern region is famous for its great fish dishes and the sour curries without all the coconut milk. Mainly in Bangkok, the northeast regional food is on sale here, because a lot of the vendors on the streets have come from that region.
