Bars in Bangkok

There are some Irish and British bars to enjoy in Bangkok. The main drinks served in Bangkok are beer and whiskey. The government heaped a lot of tax on wine and therefore most people drink the better value beer, as even for a bottle of vino plonk can be quite expensive. One can walk into a bar and buy your own bottle of whiskey and drink it there and then. There are some great microbreweries springing up all over the city. The Haus Hamburg and the Brauhaus Bangkok are 2 of the many places that brew their own booze. Also the Londoner Brew pub has some fine labels to try. Other bars around the city like the Bangkok bar, Cheap Charlies Bar are grand for a quiet drink and a chat. Somewhere up market like the Barbican bar is a real trendy place to hang out. Also the Compass Rose is pretty cool.

The local Thai bars are always lively and they will have local live bands playing and singing the popular Thai songs of the city. They will also try and sing (butcher) a few of the well-known hits from America. These bars include Ad Makers pub, About Cafe, Studio pub and the Q Bar are very popular. These Thai bars also sell some fine cuisine. There are many bars around Phra Arthit Road, as well as at Narathiwat Soi 15 and might be a good place for a pub-crawl. The experience of dining and drinking in Bangkok will become a very important highlight of your trip in this beautiful City of Angels.
